For the exhibition So Far, Yet So Close at Arti et Amicitiae female artists from Belarus will share their personal stories and search for roots, traces and histories to understand where they come from. Each of the artists chooses a different strategy to come into terms with their past. They join their voices against the current oppressive regime, and stand in solidarity with Ukraine.

This exhibition is a part of an English-language festival So Far, Yet So Close that will take place at De Balie 21th of May, 2022. In collaboration with Belarusian journalists, activists and artists De Balie presents So Far, Yet So Close: a full-day programme including talks, film and art about activism and the battle against authoritarianism from a Belarussian perspective.
