The sculpture's visual image is composed of two successive human profiles, creating the effect of movement in a single, defined direction. Technically, this is achieved using two sections of a single metal pipe. The image of the "pipe" serves as the semantic center of the artistic expression and serves as a direct metaphor for communication and exchange.

On a large scale (pipe diameter 1.9 m), in addition to the aesthetic task, the object acquires the functional possibility of a pedestrian transit zone, a unique portal, a symbolic entrance and exit.

A brief explanation from the competition organizing committee

As part of our competition, the artist realized his idea as an indoor sculpture (H-45, on display) and as an outdoor art piece (H-220, the sculpture is ready and awaiting installation in the sculpture park). Before deciding on the purchase of a large pipe, a full-size mockup (painted polycarbonate, H-250) was created to explore the final forms and understand the significance and proportionality of the piece. Photographs of the actual piece in the sculpture park were used to decorate the artist's booth. Sketches from this series also complement the exhibition.

All of the above is a competition project TRANSIT-OBJECT by artist Ruslan Vashkevich
