Pramen

1927 – 1932
Luch (Pramen) is a Soviet art association that existed from 1929 to 1932 in Minsk. The members of the association set themselves the goal of popularizing and promoting revolutionary (both in plot and performance) and innovative avant-garde art in the BSSR.They organized art exhibitions and other events dedicated to the fine arts in Minsk and other cities of the BSSR.

The “Pramen” society set as its goal “the restructuring of everyday foundations by bringing art closer to the practical requirements of life itself and by criticizing the negative aspects of everyday life; to promote the development of industrialization by applying a technique of graphic expression, close to facilitating the mass production of products of art and industry, as well as constructing improved designs and agitating them in their exhibitions and in life; reflection in his work of the achievements of the proletariat.

-

Extract from the manifesto of A. Ahola-Valo about the reasons for the creation of the association:

"... a discrepancy in the field of formal searches, the subordination of the UAFM (Use-Belarusian asatsyyatsya mastakoў) to the old traditions of the pre-revolutionary period and, as a result of this, the lack of a proper approach to the requirements of modernity, the inactivity of the Society, the lack of culture within the association, the desire of the UAFM to revolutionize the spirit of the past..."

People whose activities are recognized as useful for society could be admitted to the "Pramen", anyone who has found himself in one or another field of fine arts and agrees with the Charter of the association can become a member of the society.
