Moses Kunin

Soviet pop performer and painter.

Stage names: Michael Cooney, Hans Cooney-Picasso, Hans Cooney.

A student of Marc Chagall, he was one of the few students opposed to Kazimir Malevich and Suprematism, despite the fact that he was formally a member of UNOVIS. He worked in the circus, first as a graphic designer, and then actually became a circus actor. Performed in circuses with the number "Artist-momentalist", quickly drawing with blindfolded eyes and legs.

Lived and worked mainly in Vitebsk and Moscow.

Graduated from the Moscow Commercial Institute.

Studied at the Vitebsk Art College.

Together with E. Volkhonsky and L. Zevin he organized the “Group of Three”, which in May 1920 opened an exhibition at the Sorabis Club (Union of Art Workers) in Vitebsk.

At the invitation of Robert Falk, he entered VKHUTEMAS, but did not study for long.
