In 2004, he received a bachelor's degree in economics from the Belarusian State University.

Andrei Lenkevich is a representative of the new wave in Belarusian photography. From photojournalism, he gradually moved to contemporary art and multimedia studies.

The photographer was an award-winning photojournalist. In his works, he captured the aesthetics of the Belarusian society of the 2000s ( Belarus Portfolio series). Over time, his series of photographs turned into research: books (for example, Pagan 's photo book about a pagan cult dying out in Belarus) and multimedia projects. One of the latest series created by the artist, Goodbye, Motherland! , revisits the World War II cult in Belarus.

2004–2005, Caucasus Media Institute in Yerevan (Amenia) as part of the World Press Photo program. Graduation project - a story about the Yezidis, the small people of Armenia. A book was published as a result of the project.

September 2007, Focus on Monferrato workshop.

In 2008 he worked on a series of photographs about a modern family as part of the Pour l'Instant scholarship program (Niort, France).

Since 2006 he has been teaching photojournalism at the European Humanities University .

In 2007 he joined the International Photo Agency Anzenberger Agency , in 2008 - to the team of photographers SPUTNIK . He has held more than 60 solo and collective exhibitions in Europe, Asia and the USA.

In 2009, Andrey Lenkevich won the Humanity Photo Awards for his work from the Paganism series and was among the 10 finalists of the Magnum Expression Award . In the same year, he won a photo contest dedicated to the 170th anniversary of photography, which was held in Poland. In 2010 - the winner of the "Press Photo of Belarus" in the category "People in the News" and the OSCE competition "Tolerance. Transparency. Traditions. Trust" . In 2011 he received 6 awards "Press Photo of Belarus" . 2013 - Grand Prix Kolga Award , Grand Prix Kaunas Photo Star for the project "Farewell, Motherland!" .

In 2015, Andrey Lenkevich received the main award "Art-Belarus" at the exhibition " Autumn Salon with Belgazprombank " (15,000 euros) "For a historically responsible approach to the creation of works of contemporary art and for his contribution to the formation of an artistic environment" .
