The honorary title "People's Artist of Belarus" is awarded not earlier than five years after the awarding of the honorary title "Honored Artist of the Republic of Belarus" to artists who created outstanding works of painting, sculpture, graphics, monumental, decorative and applied, theatrical, film and television art, who made a significant contribution to the national culture and received wide public recognition.
