Gleb Kovalski

1994

Artist, activist, actress and DJ.

His artistic practice includes performance, video, film and music as well as public actions and online interventions. Using the methods of subversive affirmation, auto-ethnography and ironic self-portraiture she explores social and political issue, focusing mainly on gender and sexuality.

Through anti-normative queer actionism, the artist constantly tests the boundaries between art and life and works mostly outside of institutional spaces, creating new formats and means of activism and artivism.

Gleb’s DJ career began shortly before he founded the queer parties Petushnia in Minsk. Under the alias dosaaf he has been touring Europe and Central Asia, performing at such venues as RSO (Berlin), Den Anden Side (Copenhagen), Praga Centrum (Warsaw), Poligraf (Yerevan), bult (Almaty), Keller (Kyiv), Left Bank (Tbilisi).

Currently lives and works in Berlin.
