The complex of the former Shirin estate is included in the list of historical and cultural values of the Republic of Belarus. The northern part of the park has been partially preserved, founded in the 18th century.

The museum was founded in 1991 and occupied a third of the building; the remaining premises housed a kindergarten.

The museum has 4 exhibition halls. Ethnography is housed in two halls on the first floor; two halls on the second floor are dedicated to the life and work of the famous Belarusian artist, sculptor, archaeologist, astronomer, and writer Yazep Drozdovich. The museum exhibits 14 original works by the artist, 24 are kept in storage.

The main fund of the museum is 6815 museum objects. The museum actively works to increase the tourist attractiveness of the region and promote the historical and cultural heritage. Every year, a cultural institution takes part in the international event “Night of Museums”. Traditionally holds "Bulbany Fest", meetings with writers, artists and local historians. Much attention is paid to patriotic events within the framework of the project "Small Radzimay Ab'yadnanya, whose forests are known to hell." The goal of the project is to create optimal conditions for schoolchildren to get acquainted with the history of their native land.

Museum employees use a variety of forms of work: theatrical, virtual excursions, local history travel expeditions, museum interactive classes, quest games, environmental and patriotic events, and create video sketches.
