PhotoArtDoc is a photography festival with a theme at the intersection of documentary and art. This type of photography not only captures reality but also offers photographers broad opportunities to explore and interpret events, phenomena, and trends in contemporary society. Today, it is one of the most sought-after areas of photography, embraced by artists worldwide in their attempts to understand reality. The festival was initiated by the Belarusian photography community and is being held for the first time. The program consists of two parts: educational and competitive.

Selected Artwork Series

The closed category featured projects by Belarusian photographers who participated in the PhotoArtDoc festival's educational and mentoring program. Over the course of several months, participants worked in three groups, each with its own mentor. The invited mentors were Belarusian photographers with extensive experience in documentary and project photography: Sergei Gudilin, Katerina Kuzmicheva, and Tatyana Tkacheva. As a result of this program, the participants created projects whose themes were, to varying degrees, related to Belarusians and the lives of Belarusians. Some projects were completed during the program, while others were long-term, and interim results were presented.

The open nomination of the PhotoArtDoc`24 competition and the theme ONE'S PLACE attracted the attention of photographers from 40 countries.

Members of the competition jury: Artur Bondar (Ukraine/Germany), Sergey Gudilin (Belarus/Lithuania), Maira Dudareva (Latvia), Katerina Kuzmicheva (Belarus/Poland) and Tatiana Tkacheva (Belarus/Germany).
