Born in Minsk (BSSR, today the Republic of Belarus).

In 1979 he graduated from the Belarusian Polytechnic Institute in Minsk with a degree in mechanical engineering technology.

The photographic practice of Sergei Kozhemyakin is considered in the context of the phenomenon of the Minsk school of creative photography .

In 1985-1986 he studied photography at the studio of Valery Lobko . Professionally working in photography since 1989.

Since 2002 he has been a member of the Belarusian Union of Designers .

From 2004 to 2007 he taught photography at the Department of Arts at the Belarusian State University .

Since 2005, he has been the author and compiler of the reference book “ Photo art and photo business in Belarus”.

Member of the expert committee since 2007   Creative Union "Photo Art" [1].
