Selected events

From the description of the work at the exhibition "ODKSZTAŁCENIE / DEFORMATION / UNLEARNING":

The installation is the result of the artist’s observation of how large monuments (for example, the monument to Jakub Kolas in Minsk), which are supposed to dominate the urban space of large cities, are lost in the greyness of the streets and merge with the city landscape. In her work, Ala Savashevich tries to work through the experience of learning with the method of academism common in Belarusian art schools, which does not allow students to go beyond a certain framework. Created in her student days, the mentioned work marked the beginning of the artist’s new creative method of creating spatial forms using felt.
