Theater artist, teacher.

He worked in a realistic manner, corresponding to the main creative direction of the theater. His scenography combined the accuracy of details and the generality of the stage image.

Many of the performances designed by him were included in the golden fund of Soviet theatrical and decorative art.

He is the People's Artist of the BSSR.

Graduated from the Leningrad Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture (now the Repin State Academic Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture, St. Petersburg). Later he transferred to the theater and scenery department.

He was the chief artist of the Tajik Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre.

He worked as the chief artist of the Moscow Mayakovsky Theatre.

He worked as an adviser to the Romanian Ministry of Culture and at the same time as a production designer at the Bucharest Opera House.

He worked as the chief artist of the Chelyabinsk Opera and Ballet Theater named after Glinka.

He worked as the chief artist of the State Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theater of the BSSR.

He taught at the Belarusian State Theater and Art Institute (now the Belarusian State Academy of Arts).
