Artist and activist Ales Pushkin opened one of the first private non-profit galleries of contemporary art in Vitebsk. The gallery occupied an area of about 50 meters and was located near the Marc Chagall Museum, in the city center on Suvorov Street.

Artists from Vitebsk, Polotsk, Minsk, Grodno became the authors of the first vernissage "At Pushkin's". The exposition at the opening of the gallery gave an idea of the state of contemporary art.
