Sculptor, teacher.

People's Artist of the BSSR.

He worked in the field of portraiture, plot-compositional and monumental plastics. He is one of the founders of the Belarusian sculptural school.

Participated in the Great Patriotic War. He was awarded the Order of Lenin, two Orders of the Red Banner of Labor, medals, Certificates of Honor of the Supreme Council of the BSSR.

He taught at the Belarusian State Theater and Art Institute (now the Belarusian State Academy of Arts).

Lived and worked in Minsk.

Born in the village of Zverovichi , Vitebsk province (RSFSR, now a village in the Smolensk region, Russia).

Graduated from the painting department of the Vitebsk Art College.

Presentation of the monument to the Belarusian printing pioneer Francysk Skaryna at VDNKh in Moscow, on which the sculptor worked for a long time.

Was awarded the title of People's Artist of the BSSR .

1967

He created a model of the monument to Skaryna for Polotsk (a city in Belarus). He did not have time to cast a bronze sculpture; his students, sculptors Igor Glebov and Andrey Zaspitsky, did it for him.

1976

The State Prize of the BSSR was posthumously awarded for the monument to Francysk Skaryna in Polotsk.
