Zofia Chomętowska

1902 – 1991

Photographer, during her lifetime she exhibited at many exhibitions in Poland and abroad. She created spontaneous shots of people doing their daily activities and photographic landscapes of nature. Participant of the first post-war Polish photo exhibition "Warsaw Accuses".

She lived and worked in Warsaw until 1947, then moved permanently to Argentina.

Born in the village of Prokhonsk near Pinsk (Minsk province, Russian Empire, now the Republic of Belarus).

September 3th, 1919

She married Vladislav Chekhovich-Lyakhovitsky.

May 31, 1930-1939

After the annulment of the previous marriage , she married Yakub Khomentovsky.

since 1928

I started taking pictures with Leica.

1929

She made her debut at the General National Exhibition in Poznań.

September 1931

She received an award in the Kodak competition, which marked the beginning of a series of publications of her photographs in specialized magazines and participation in exhibitions.

1947

Went to Argentina. During my stay in the country I did not take photographs.

May 20th, 1991

She died in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
