Exhibition of paintings in favor of the drawing school

1971
Minsk, halls of the Nobility Assembly
The exhibition catalog is stored in the library of the State Tretyakov Gallery. It lists 69 works, but according to some sources, there were about 100 works at the exhibition, including not only works from various private collections, but also works by local Belarusian artists.

Associated Documents

“It opened on May 24, 1891 in the halls of the Noble Assembly. About 100 paintings were presented, including works by A. Bartels, J. Mateiko, I. Aivazovsky, E. Sukovsky, L. Tyshinsky, Meshchersky. It was the first exhibition of fine arts in Minsk. However, it did not have the success that the organizers had hoped for. After covering the expenses, there was a very small amount left.”
