The Art Museum is a branch of the Brest Regional Museum of Local Lore, opened on May 17, 2002 in the building of the former Southern Barracks on the territory of the memorial complex "Brest Fortress - Hero". The museum, with a total area of ​​1670 m², has 12 halls, two of which are exhibition halls. The main exhibition of the museum is housed in ten halls, forming a ceremonial enfilade. It presents more than 500 works of painting, graphics, sculpture, decorative and applied art and folk artistic crafts, which tell about the ways of formation and development of fine art and folk art of the Brest region in the mid-20th - early 21st centuries. The art collection began to form in the regional museum of local history in the 1950s and today includes more than 2,000 works.
