LINES OF LIGHT, LINES OF LIFE

Marina Kazak 2025
canvas, oil, acrylic, mixed media. Each work is 120x270 cm (the diptych consists of two works, each of which, in turn, consists of three parts)

Author's concept

"LINES OF LIGHT" is a reflection on the city through the rhythms of lines of light, intersections of roads, contours of foliage. The rhythm of lines creates a strong structure and harmonizes the urban space, transforming it into a bright combination of geometry and verticality.

"LIFE LINES" refers to world, earthly, parallel, visible-invisible, cyclical lines, as well as lines on the palms. These lines are perceived as patterns and principles by which all living things in the universe develop and exist.

Artistic Manifesto

“Art is not created for art's sake when the artist is honest with himself.
For me, art is a powerful opportunity to observe the non-obvious, to see the invisible; through the abstract language of form to know the world and oneself, to express the inner life of feelings; a way of reflecting emotional reality.

And this is not a goal, but a path. And an unpredictable search. This is about the movement of forms and thoughts: if a form or structure is static, then there is no life in it, no energy. It is the power of movement and intention, the feeling of unity with all that exists that I want to convey in my works, without limiting myself to materials, and using not only the representative method of narration, each material has its own liveliness, becomes an accomplice.

Lines, stripes, geometric shapes, repeating structures, breaking out of the plane give me a sense of rhythm and movement, a sense of order in a chaotic present.
This path is without guarantees, without final clarity. But this is precisely what life is."
