VEHA

2017
The VEHA initiative was created to popularize Belarusian amateur photography and preserve the visual history of everyday life. "We focus on the cyclical feature of photography, through the analysis of various family archives – this is how the theme of the collection is determined. Then, through open call, we collect only scanned photos – the originals are kept by the owner of the archive. We describe each photo, catalog it, carry out retouching and publish it in our online archive ( http://veha.by ). Photographs take part in exhibitions, research, and become books. This is how artistic work, with images of everyday life, tells about the invisible history of Belarusians, not recorded in textbooks, and every person who sends a photo from his archive to VEHA becomes a part of this history".
