Born in Vitebsk .

He studied at a vocational school in Vitebsk , taking drawing lessons from Peng.

1905

Was sent to relatives in the north of England , took sculpture lessons at a local art school.

1910

Moved to Paris , worked at the "Hive".

1911

His work was exhibited at the Salon d'Automne and the Salon des Indépendants.

1914-1915

Exhibited in Berlin, Amsterdam, London.

1930s

Worldwide recognition has come.

1948–1950

Personal exhibitions at the Amsterdam Stedelijk Museum, the Boijmans van Benningen Museum in Rotterdam, the Museum of Modern Art in Paris.

The artist was awarded the Grand Prix at the Venice Biennale .

1953

He opened the six-meter monument "The Ruined City" in Rotterdam, on which he worked since 1945.

1955–1960

Works on a monument to Vincent van Gogh , which was installed in 1961 in Auvers-sur-Oise (France). The sculptor completely departed from cubism. And the city of Auvers-sur-Oise forever connected the names of the great artist and the great sculptor. There are 39 sculptures by Zadkine on display here.

1958

Zadkine taught at the Paris Academy of Grande Chaumières.

1960

Awarded the Grand National Prix de France for art.

1966

Recipient of the Order of the Legion of Honor .

1965

A representative monograph "The Secret World of Ossip Zadkine" was published, including his lithographs, poems, photographs of the artist.

1966

A giant retrospective was opened at the Art Museum Zurich.

November 25, 1967

He died and was buried in Paris, in the metropolitan cemetery of Montparnasse.
