Piotr Siergijewicz

1900 – 1984

Artist, painter and graphic artist. He worked in easel and book graphics, painted icons, and also painted in churches.

A significant place in the artist's work was occupied by the Kupala theme, the historical past of his native land, the life of the peasants of Western Belarus and the theme of the Great Patriotic War.

The funds of the State Literary Museum of Yanka Kupala in Minsk include 14 paintings by Pyotr Sergievich. Two paintings are kept in the Corporate Collection of Belgazprombank.

Lived and worked in Vilna.

Born in the village of Stavrovo, Kovno province of the Russian Empire (now Braslav district, Vitebsk region, Republic of Belarus).

1917–1919

He studied at the Adomas Varnas Free School of Drawing and Painting in Vilna.

1919-1922

Studied at the Art Department of Vilna University under Ferdinand Ruszczyc and Ludomir Slendinsky.

1924-1925

Studied at the Krakow Academy of Arts.

From 1925

Participant of art exhibitions.

The first personal exhibition of the artist.

1940s

He took part in the transfer of valuables of the Vilnius Belarusian Museum from Vilnius to Minsk.

1965

Title Honored Art Worker of the Lithuanian SSR.

November 1, 1984

He died in Vilnius and was buried at the Antakalnis cemetery.
