Roman Zaslonov

1962

Painter.

His art organically combines the traditions of classical painting with the techniques of modernism and postmodernism. The artist calls his style - "modern figurative art". With his paintings, the artist seems to take you to some new world, filled with stories of love of life, light and love, and also the expectation of something good and bright. Zaslonov seeks to create his own world, his city, his own mystery. The artist's project "Table" represented the Belarusian pavilion at the 57th Venice Biennale.

The artist about his practice:

"My images are from the theatre, from the style of the opera, conditional, dramatic, when you believe and don't believe at the same time, I do something on the verge of "kitsch" and "non-kitsch" so that it causes people a feeling of happiness on a physical level. This is probably correct, this is, in fact, the purpose of art."
