Born in the village of Nizkaya Street , Mogilev Province (Russian Empire, now a village in the Mogilev Region, Republic of Belarus).

1938

Graduated from the Vitebsk Art College . He began working at the State Opera and Ballet Theater of Belarus.

1953

Graduated from the Repin Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture in Leningrad (now the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts named after Ilya Repin).

1953-1957

He studied at the graduate school of the Institute of Art History, Ethnography and Folklore of the Academy of Sciences of the BSSR.

1941-1945

Participated in the Great Patriotic War . He fought on the Western and North-Western fronts, a participant in the defeat of the Nazi troops near Moscow.
