Bull carcass

Haim Soutine (Chaïm Soutine) 1923

Fourth place in the list of 10 most expensive works of artists from Belarus.

It is believed that the inspiration for this expressive painting was sought from Rembrandt and his Carcass of a Bull. Soutine made many "meat" sketches and wrote six different "Bull Carcasses". Five of them are kept in museums around the world, the sixth in 2015 at Christie's auction was sold for 28 million 165 thousand dollars to a private collector.
