The museum was created at the film studio "BelarusFilm". The main goal was to collect and store materials about national cinema. The creators also took care of popularizing his achievements. In addition, the museum organizes fund, thematic and personal exhibitions dedicated to cinema and Belarusian fine arts. On the third floor there is a gallery where personal art exhibitions are organized.

The Museum of the History of Belarusian Cinema was founded on the initiative of Belarusian cinematographers.

2002

The museum is moving to a new address. A gallery opens on one of the floors.
