1953

Artist, art critic, former general director of the National Art Museum of the Republic of Belarus.

As painter he worked in the genres of still life and landscape, as well as in the genre of thematic painting.

He headed the National Art Museum in Belarus for 25 years, is the author and curator of a large number of exhibition projects, printed publications, scientific catalogs and publications on fine arts.

Lives and works in Minsk.

Was born in the village of Zhguno-Bruda, Dabrush district, Gomel region (BSSR, today the Republic of Belarus).

1970-1975

Graduated from the faculty of art and graphics of the S. M. Kirov Vitebsk State Pedagogical Institute (now the P. M. Masherov Vitebsk State University).

1980

Graduated from postgraduate studies at the Institute of Art Studies, Ethnography and Folklore of the Academy of Sciences of the BSSR.

since 1998

He was the general director of the National Art Museum of the Republic of Belarus.

2012

Recognized as the best head of the museum in the Republic of Belarus (within the First National Forum "Museums of Belarus" in Grodno).

2013

Awarded the title of Honored Artist of the Republic of Belarus.

2023

He was dismissed from the position of the general director of the National Art Museum of the Republic of Belarus.
