Born in Minsk (BSSR, now the Republic of Belarus).

2001

She graduated from the Minsk State Linguistic University with a degree in English Literature and Psychology. While studying at the university, Alexandra worked as a journalist, acted in films and shot music videos.

2002

Moves to Moscow, where he begins working for the artist Yuri Kuper.

2003

Receives a grant to study at the International Center of Photography (ICP) and moves to New York, USA.

2005

Begins working for Irving Penn, cataloging his archives and printing photographs under his direction.

At the same time, her series Behind the Glass was selected by the Art+Commerce festival in New York (curated by Charlotte Cotton).

The first publication of her photographs in The New Yorker magazine. She becomes a regular contributor to publications in the press: The New Yorker, The New York Times, FOAM, Le Monde, Crash, etc.

2006

First prize in the Portrait section at the Silver Camera festival in Moscow.

2007

American Photo publishes a portfolio of her work.

Shows at the International Festival of Fashion and Photography in Guières, France.

Moves to Paris. Exhibition at the Otto Zoo Gallery, Milan.

Exhibition "I Can't Give You Anything But Love" at the International Photography Festival in Rome and at the Miyako Yoshinaga Gallery in New York.

2010

At the MMX exhibition at the Pobeda Gallery in Moscow, she takes a new course: instead of presenting straightforward series, she begins to create new stories, mixing images from different periods and different places.

2011

Residency at the Guin Zegal Arts Centre in Guingamp, Brittany, France.

Alexandra becomes the owner of the first BMW residence at the Nicephore Niepce Museum in Chalon-sur-Saone, France.

2012

Her work, made as part of the BMW residency at the Nicephore Niepce Museum, was shown at the International Conferences of Photography in Arles, France.

2012

The first book, "Here, Beyond the Mists," was published by Trocadero, France.

2013

She holds solo exhibitions at the Moscow Museum of Photography and the Munich BMW Museum. She begins collaborating with the In Camera gallery (Paris) and regularly exhibits at the Paris Photo International Art Fair.

2014

The exhibition "Here, Beyond the Mists" is on display at the Macro Museum of Contemporary Art in Rome, Italy.

2015

The book "Nobody believes that I am alive" is published by GwinZegal, France.

The book "Nobody Believe I'm Alive" is on display at the National Centre for Audiovisual Arts in Luxembourg and the PhotoPasquart Photography Centre (Bienne, Switzerland).

2018

She is one of eight nominees for the 2018-2020 Elysee Prize, the winners' catalogue being published by the Elysee Museum, Lausanne, Switzerland.

2018

The book "Behind the Glass" is published by Chose Commune and is shortlisted for the Aperture Prize at Paris Photo 2018.

2019

A solo exhibition at the Nicephore Niepce Museum of Photography in Chalon-sur-Saône brings together one of her recent wall photograms with other works from the book "Behind the Glass".

2022

She becomes one of the winners of the Grande Commande Photographique competition, held with the support of the French Ministry of Culture and BnF (France).

Artist in Residence at the National House of Artists/EHPAD, in partnership with the International College of Photography.
