Curator Antonina Stebur discusses the exhibition “Sequences” at the Zaire Azgur Memorial Museum-Workshop in Minsk and the appropriateness of including in it the works of Mikhail Borozny, the current rector of the Belarusian State Academy of Arts, who on June 21, 2021 was added to the EU sanctions list with the wording “for decision of the university administration to expel students participating in peaceful protests.” In the text, Stebur analyzes who, how and why creates situations that recreate and perpetuate the existing unjust repressive order.
